Civil War Map of Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee
Produced in 1894, this tristate map shows Northern Arkansas, and more interestingly, the southern half of Missouri. Long before the Civil War broke out, "border ruffians" lived here, crossing west to violently fight over the issue of slavery. This rare map was released by the War Department as part of an atlas “To Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies”. It contained over 1,000 images pertaining to the War of the Rebellion from 1861-1865. This map showing what would have been one of the western edges of the Confederate states.
